MIDI Accordions. Not new!

Everyone's been blogging the Roland FR-7 Midi Accordion, but it's not a new thing. For $900-$1,800 any accordion can be retro-fitted for MIDI, or my good friends at accordionsandkeyboards.com have a big range of MIDI accordions, and chic-looking sound modules (complete with lots of auto rhythms) to plug them into. And Cavagnolo are a French company (obviously) who've been making MIDI accordions since 1984.

Comments:
This Roland accordion is in fact an entirely new thing - it's not just a MIDI accordion, it's a completely reedless digital accordion with a self-contained amplification system too. As demonstrated by its developer and champion, one Luigi Bruti of Roland Italy, it even plays non-accordion sounds like strings and brass. Well done there, mate. High quality journalism.

He isn't saying that the Roland FR-7 isn't new . He was saying that MIDI accordions are not a new thing and that his friends at accordionsandkeyboards.com can retrofit any accordion with MIDI capabilities. And Cavagnolo are a French company (obviously) who've been making MIDI accordions since 1984. Next time you want to ridicule someone about their journalism you should thoroughly read the entire piece so that you will know what you are talking about. Maybe next time your criticism will be of higher quality.

Uh, he said "Everyone's been blogging the Roland FR-7 Midi Accordion, but it's not a new thing." And then you said "He isn't saying that the Roland FR-7 isn't new." WTF?

The Roland digital accordion isn't a new concept. Being digital it is new, however, back in the late 50's early 60's there was an electronic, reedless, accordion called a "Sanovox." Like the Roland, it was electronic only. The bellows controlled volume. But the concept of a reedless, accordion with analog sounds has been around over 40 years.
