"It has the same switches that are on the accordion. Light in weight and a show stopper. Only 12 of these were ever made." Imagine the kind of band you could form if you found the other 11.

ReplyDeleteI was intrigued by anonymous's post, did a bit of research, and totally failed to find any information (let alone a picture) of a Livingston Tubon Synth. One came up on eBay in 2003, but that's it. Anyone?

Users include: Believed to have been used by Ralf Huetter of Kraftwerk on some very early albums; definately used by Mike Rabin. Electronic bass sounds [...] Basically a tube, with mini-keyboard at right-hand end, left-hand controller near the top, and a chrome speaker at very top (left hand) end."
According to the book, the Tubon was made in the 60s.
Those awesomely tacky tabs on the back make it look like a reverse SH 1000 or SH 2000 stuck in a tube.

ReplyDeleteI recently bought a pretty good condition TUBON on eBay.
It works and looks great.
Only problem: it doesn't have an ON-OFF switch!!!
Only way to switch it on or off is by removing the battery, after removing the circular right side panel.
Can this be right?
On the manual there's no switch mentioned either...
Hmmm...bizarre. Anyone know anything?
