Microphone nut invents new microphone

Kelly Dueck is a Canadian microphone geek (he went to 'recording school' and everything). He's seen the growth in cheap condenser mics (which you can now buy for £49 - when they cost £400 ten years ago), but he doesn't like how they sound. So he's set up his own company, Kel Audio, with one product, the HM-1 microphone. It's fairly different from the usual mass-produced cheapo mics - it has an internal shockmount, and has less high-frequency boost, which means that room acoustics and slightly crappy sound sources are less of a problem. And it only costs $69. Thanks, Kelly! More
