Homemade 'acoustic laptops'

Tore Honoré Bøe makes 'acoustic laptops' - homemade wooden boxes loaded with contact microphones and various rattly/shaky noismaking things. The videos don't really help explain what's going on, but they do look cool. (thanks, Scott and Beware of the Blog)

Comments:
Check out the work of the Londoner Hugh Davies; in the mid seventies he invented and performed with electro-mechanic instruments like these. some were built into the emptied covers of the Encyclopedia Britannica! Unfortunately this great pioneer died a few months ago.
