Sure, you'd have to pay shipping and might get clobbered for duty, but the strong pound certainly makes this offer from Synthesizers.com look pretty appealing. You pay $100 a month for 12 months, and get all the modules for a two-oscillator mono synth with MIDI. Everything is included: a power supply, an MDF box, US shipping and even the patch cables.

It's too bad the system as a whole is POS. And who wants a particleboard cabinet like that in their studio?
Is this really going to be fun to play with until they send you the power supply on the 11th month. Seriously, what are going to do three months in with an LFO, a slew limiter, a midi interface and a wooden box. I could think of other things to spend 1200 on than the torture of waiting for a functional synth.
The MDF cabinets don't look that bad. I have two and I am getting ready to paint them. I'd just rather spend money on modules rather than cabinets. Eventually, I would like to have a nice cabinet. If you don't want the cabinet, contact Roger and let him know. He is easy to deal with and he might be willing to substitute a module instead of the cabinet. This would make a lot of sense for all of you in Great Britain or anywhere outside of the USA. I'm lucky, I live in San Antonio. Just a "hoot and a holler" away. : ))
