I'm endlessly grateful to Japanese illustrator Shigeru Nakamaura for creating the
Hexagon Room, a tribute to the synth drums of the Eighties. Obviously
Simmons get four rooms in the gallery, but I'm disappointed to see Dynacord (whose pads were crazy irregular quadrilaterals) only get one. Click
here if you don't want to navigate Shigeru's rather elaborate front page.
haha, I have an old Tama analogue drum brain... now I definitely know why the kit didn't survive! Yikes... Hope they made some funky coffee tables out of it.
ReplyDeleteLook for a red Simmons kit in the animated video I made for Weird Al's CD/DVD thingy...along with a "Goom" synthema-sizer that turns into a squid. BRAP!
ReplyDelete...but there's no mention of my wonderful Essex-built Ultimate Percussion kit. (they probably never made it to Japan).
