Remember how we told you that back in the mildly-disappointing Sex Issue? Now, in another hot MT exclusive (well, as long as you don’t count the New York Daily News, where we found the story) we bring news of an entire album composed of the (heavily modified) sounds of intimate congress. Jessica Vale, and two chaps,wearing charity-shop wigs, presents the Sex Album: where every single sound you hear "was once live sex".
They used PZM mics placed around the couples, some stethoscope-like devices, and in some cases mini condenser mics inside various body cavities. The recordings were processed in Reaktor, Soundhack, and CSound. The results were combined using Pro-Tools and seemingly every sequencing package known to man. They say "we think the results stand on their own regardless of the construction method". We’re just trying not to giggle about things ‘standing on their own’.
UPDATE: Looks like Canadians Venetian Snares got there first with their album Nymphomatriarch in 2003. Can't wait to hear their new album 'Winnipeg is a Frozen Shithole'...
