Cheer up week: Food-themed live music in Bristol

Remember the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra, from Peter's Musical Life of Plants series? (All their instruments are made of vegetables, and end up being made into soup and fed to the audience). Well, they're coming to Bristol (where I'm writing from this week), as part of the Organic Food Festival. They're playing the Victoria Rooms on 3rd September. On the 4th, Matthew Herbert (seen here recording chickens) is doing the penultimate performance of Plat Du Jour, his food-themed political concept album, which includes "contributions from master chef Heston Blumenthal, world coffee authority Antony Wild and long time Radiohead collaborator Stanley Donwood, 30,000 broiler chickens, 3255 people eating apples and a recreation of the lunch shared by Tony Blair and George Bush run over by a Chieftain tank." (Thanks, tone0010 and Imogen)

Somehow soup made from a spittle filled used zuchinni trumpet doesn't sound all that appetizing.
