Fantastic 80s film about MIDI

Untangling MIDI is a 1988 docu-vertorial (or edu-tisement) about MIDI, stuffed with loving closeups of loads of ugly Yamaha gear and Roland guitar synths, presented by the charming Brad Vinikow... It was rediscovered by Paul Slocum, "a geek artist/musician/hacker living in Dallas, Texas" who develops music programs for Atari 2600s. (Thanks Chuck)

Comments:
I've got a very old book called "What's MIDI?...it was released somewhere in the mid-late 80s (I've got a '92 reissue)....and it's full of spitting on analog gear :)

Also, it has loads of crappy ads - my favourite being:
"...with soul, imagination and a power that makes other keyboards back down. The new Peavey DPM3 has a sound that's gutsy and pure and a responsiveness that puts the music back in YOUR hands. And it's totally software based, making obsolescence obsolete. But best of all, it's American made - by Peavey. Need we say more?"

Then there's a picture of a band (most of them with mullets...one even has a pink guitar) and two...how shall I put it...loose girls...

TreeWave are excellent and Paul is very nice. Grab youself a copy of Cabana EP+
