I've been reading a bit more about those new synths I mentioned yesterday, and they're very interesting. Each synth comes with a USB connection to your computer. So you can use the hardware synth as a control surface and a soundcard. Best of all, it also works as a VST plugin - so you can use the synth hardware in your sequencer, just as if it was software (except it won't use any CPU power). That's very clever - it's interesting to see designers really thinking about how real people actually use their stuff.
